NSC Victory - Blazing a "Trail" Where no Canadian Team Has Been

Portage Trail Soccer Club is very pleased to announce that last month the U12 Girls Developmental League All-star team returned from the National Sports Centre (NSC) Cup Tournament in Blaine, Minnesota with gold medals in hand. Not only were our girls undefeated at the tournament, the PTSC U12 All-stars were the first Canadian team to win this age category. - to read more go to http://www.ptsc-soccer.com/league.php?scriptName=HOME&leagueID=8648

Entertainment
PELADA -
is a documentary that follows Luke and Gwendolyn, two former college soccer stars who didn’t quite make it to the pros. Not ready for it to be over, they take off, chasing the game. From prisoners in Bolivia to moonshine brewers in Kenya, from freestylers in China to women who play in hijab in Iran, Pelada is the story of the people who play.

Away from professional stadiums, bright lights, and manicured fields, there’s another side of soccer. Tucked away on alleys, side streets, and concrete courts, people play in improvised games. Every country has a different word for it. In North America, it is “pick-up soccer.” In Trinidad, it's "taking a sweat." In England, it's "having a kick-about." In Brazil, the word is “pelada,” which literally means "naked"- the game stripped down to its core. It’s the version of the game played by anyone, anywhere - and it’s a window into lives all around the world.

PTSC 2010 Summer Camp and Soccer Academy
"Want to get your kids out of the house and off the circuit of TV or video games? Are they bored with daycare and other "camps"?  Do they love soccer and want to improve their game?"

If you answered yes to all or some of the above, then we invite you to choose the PTSC Academy Program as their summer vacation destination.

If your child wishes to advance to Premier-level soccer, strong technical skills and intensity are critical to their success.  The PTSC Academy Program will expose your child to the technical coaching expertise to elevate their skills to the next competitive level.

PTSC Academy Program will be running a series of week-long summer camp sessions in July and August. Please go to the PTSC website for more info.
